The second day of racing and Davy was
looking for two good runs to get some
good overall finishes and some points
for the Privateers Championship. The day
start with the Supersport TT and just
as the CSC Branson R6 Yamaha was being
pushed to the line, the battery went dead
and he missed his starting slot. The organisers
did let him start at the back and he was
credited his time as he did not make to
the start line.
So with a lot of traffic to get through
he set off and aan opening lap at 119.392mph
saw him in 22nd overall and moving forward.
His second lap was even quicker in 18
min 44.87 secs at 120.750mph, his fastes
ever lap of the mountain circuit on a
supersport machine. So the little CSC
Branson R6 was flying and as Davy came
in to refuel he was confident of getting
even further vup the leaderboard. However
disaster was to strike when the back tyre
was checked it was falling apart and all
chunked up, a tyre that was supposed to
do four laps had only lasted two and with
no change Davys race was over.

The Superstock TT in the afternoon
was Davy's next outing onboard the CSC
Branson R1 Yamaha. After handling problems
throughout practice a few more changes
had been made to try and make things better
so Davy headed down Bray Hill into the
unknown. The handling was not great and
Davy new it was going to be hard to get
any sort of result.
At the end of lap one he was 27th with
a lap at 121.762mph, this was followed
by another solid lap at 121.771mph to
pull him up to 24th place. The bike was
not handling well and it was hard work,
but he dug in deteremined to get a finish
after the morning disappointment. At the
end of lap three including a pit stop
he was up to 23rd and on the final circuit
he set his fastes lap of the race and
his fastest ever Superstock time in 18
min 21.13 secs at 123.353mph. A lap he
hasd no idea he was capable of doing on
a machine that was anything but easy to
ride. That lap brought him home in a credible
22nd place and the second Yamaha.
After the Supersport Race Davy had dropped
to joint third in the Privateers Championship,
which was dissappointing, but his hard
rideing in the Superstock earned him valuable
points and pulled up to joint second with
Stephen Oates and thirteen points behind
James McBride and still in the hunt.
A disappointed Davy speaking later, "What
a frustrating day, i can't believe the
battery went on the CSC Branson R6, but
these things happen and at least they
had credited us the time as we had not
come to the line. So i set off at the
back of the grid and set a couple of decent
laps to get myself in to contention despite
having to make my way through a lot of
traffic. Then in for the pit stop and
i could not believe it that i could not
go again as the tyre was done and we had
to retire. I was confident with my pace
that i could have got in to the top fifteen
and get some more points for the privateers
championship, but what looks like a faulty
tyre cost me it all."
"The stocker was hard work and
my hands are a mess with blisters all
over them, the final lap time must be
a mistake as the way it was handling i
have no idea how i lapped at over 123mph.
Its feels bad now, but i have to put it
behind me and look forward to Wednesday
and the second Supersport and hopefully
this time get away at my proper slot and
look to get a good finish to make up for
todays disappointment and hopefully a
tyre that will do four laps"
