Season to get Underway on Mainland (13 Apr 10)

After Davy's plans to ride at Bishopscourt over the Easter weekend had to be cancelled at the last minute due to circumstances beyond their control the team once again had to re-assess their plans and options to get important set-up time on the new bikes before the start of the road race season.

Other than the test in Portugal on the CSC Branson R1 Yamaha Davy has had no track time as the weather at home has been too cold and wet to even consider a test day. So with the bikes ready to go and the van and lorry now stickered up for the season ahead by team sponsors "01RACEFX" the team will now full of anticipation head for Dublin on Thursday evening with the Strangford Holiday Park GSXR1000 Suzuki and Davy Morgan #71 Road Racing Supporters Club 250cc Honda on board for the trip to the mainland. They will then link-up with team principle Steve Caffyn who will have the new CSC Branson R6 Yamaha onboard and then the team will head for an extensive test day at Pembrey in South Wales on Friday.

Davy hopes for a busy and successful day as he looks to get the 250 Honda run-in after a winter rebuild and more importantly looks to get a first run on the Superbike and Supersport machines. The first step on both bikes will be to get the riding position sorted and then after that to get a good base setting on both bikes that will allow Davy to have a safe and successful 2010.

Then after a nights rest it will be the long 350 mile trip to Scarborough for the Ian Watson Spring Cup Meeting on Sunday where Davy will have his first race of 2010. He will be going out on all three bikes with the main priority of getting himself and the bikes dialled in for the Cookstown 100 on the 23rd/24th April. Although if things go well he will be looking for some good confidence boosting results.

Davy is looking forward to getting out on the Strangford Holiday Park Superbike, its been in the garage since November

Davy speaking on Tuesday, "I can't wait, it seems like an age since we were in Portugal and with two new bikes to get a run on you could say i am like a kid on Christnmas Eve. 01RACEFX did a brilliant job on the bike graphics and they have excelled again with the van and lorry that are both looking well ahead of the season. The trip is five days away, but its important with the two new bikes that we get time on them before we take them out in a race so it was the only workable option open to us, to do the test day and then up to Scarborough. The bikes look well, the transport looks well and my new Arai helmets complete the package, again in the distinctive pink colour, thanks to Arai for supplying me with them as the race budget for this year is very tight".

"The Suzuki has been in my garage since November when Trevor of Strangford Holiday Park bought it for me, so to say it has been a long six months is an under statement, even though it was dissappointing not to be out at Easter we probably would not have learned a lot as conditions were either awful or not great. I just can't wait to get my leg over it in anger and see what it and i am capable off. The CSC Branson R6 Yamaha i have not even seen since the day we bought it as it has been with Steve (Caffyn) in England so i have not even seen the new graphics. It is the most kit Supersport machine i have ridden in my career so i am confident i can improve my results in 2010. I want to say a big thankyou to Trevor for this opportunity and to Steve for his continued support and i just hope i can do the bike's and them justice with some good results."

"So here's looking forward to a safe and successful weekend, and on Monday on the way home i hope i have a big smile on my face and ready to go at Cookstown. Just to let people know that our new badges have arrived for 2010 when again we will be supporting Action Cancer and they will be on sale for the first time at Scarborough this weekend. I hope the race fans will continue to support us and this important charity".
