The 2010 season kicked off for Davy, with a trip to Portugal for a hot weather test at Potimao. Along with sponsors Steve Caffyn, Trevor Matthewson and Partner Trudy he set off for the three day test hoping to get some miles under his belt before the season opener at Cookstown.

Speaking briefly about the first day (friday) of his test Davy commented, "The track is totally awesome and its brilliant to be back on a bike after a five month break. Unfortunately i spent most of the day on wets, that however was not entirely a bad thing as i try to exorcise some demons and get my wet weather riding back up to the level i know i am capable off. Although some of the hailstones were quite painful".
